This is like 3 regular car widths, or 1.5 raptors...

If I had money/time, I’d try to bargain being able to come out and test drive some of these monsters for articles. I want to come see the museum anyways. Is there affordable ski ing nearby? Wife and I need to go but Colorado is $$$ and the East coa st is apparently Scoob in comparison .

is there any skiing...in Salt Lake City...

Yah.  I think you could say that.

That being said. You aren’t getting a test drive any...for many reasons but it boils down to insurance and liability.

What indicators do you have of impending sickness? I had fish tacos from a pretty dingy taqueri a and it put me down for 24 hrs. Last time I ate there.

meat smelled and tasted funny and a few pieces had that green sheen on them.  hooray!

Looks like they’ve still got the 70 series cabs and trays in the back too.

Green sheen means nothing except that it was sliced after it was cooked. It happens more often on processed meats, too.

This is true...it was the smell and taste that was really worrying.

Where did you acquire this questionable burrito?

There’s a group here that blazes a mostly dirt trail to Cruiserfest every year. They also trucked out all of the toys and models two-ish years ago. I’d love to go but I’m unsure if I can make it.

IIRC, Dan mentioned something about the 70 cabs and trays being available for purchase.

Is this one of those I’m 4 bites in I might as well power through it situations? I guess you have a sick day coming up I know the pain, you have my sympathy.

I have never suffered from eating at a taqueria, but I also grew up around them and have developed digestive powers that allow me to eat just about anything palatable without problems. Taco cart on a street corner at 11:00P in Mexico? Never hurt me. Expired Kraft Dinner? That shit is deadly.

Albertos.  I know, I know.  But I usually have great luck with them.

It was Adalberto’s in Sacramento.

I guess it depends on what you define as affordable.  Lift tickets are expensive no matter where you go but the resorts are close enough to the mountains that cheap lodging and transport is easy enough.  you guys should just rent our place for a week so we can go to hawaii.  You can see the Alta tram from my house.

Albertos is barely food... 20+ years ago they were half-decent taco shops, but even by 15 years ago they were pretty much inedible. It’s the only place I know of aside from Chipotle and Qdoba (both of which seem to use better meat) that pre-cooks beef and leaves it sitting for extended periods before making it into a burrito. I appreciate that they still make a true SD-style carne asada burrito in other markets, but the meat quality is s o terrible that I can’t choke them down.

Their carna asada plate is great, and I usually have good luck with burritos, but not today.

Carne asada should be a thin piece of grilled meat, not a bunch of little cubes...

Kinja'd!!!0

yes, thats how it comes.  a grilled thin piece of meat.

They used to serve it as just a scoop of that questionable stuff from the burritos... It was kind of like a deconstructed burrito with tortillas, rice, and beans on the side.

Interesting. They’re upping their game.

The burrito is supposed to be made of the same stuff, grilled the same way, and chopped right before being added to a burrito with guacamole and pico de gallo.
